When I went with my family to Arby's to try the Smokehouse Brisket sandwich, the first one that we went to was all out of them. Apparently they've been really popular. So we drove to another Arby's location.
We went into the other Arby's and the person working the counter said "Hello" with a smile. I asked him if they had the Smokehouse Brisket, and explained to him they were all out at the other Arby's. He said "We have them. We did run out once, but now we are more prepared." and told me they were very popular and selling over 100 of the sandwiches daily!
The sandwich is fantastic. It has a great smoky flavor. Melted smoked Gouda cheese, tender slow smoked brisket, crispy onions and bbq sauce on a crusty bun. It's a big sandwich, too much for me to eat in one sitting (but the rest tasted just as good cold later!)- just the right size for my son and husband. The flavors and textures were so good it reminded me a bit of all those luxury hotels that we used to stay in a few times a year. So delicious! You can order it as a combo with your choice of sides. I like the salad option. My family loves Arby's curly fries.
After we were done eating, I was full, but everyone else wanted dessert. William had an apple turnover, TG opted for a chocolate turnover (because chocolate is always her favorite) and my husband had a vanilla shake. The turnovers were flaky and good. The shake was super thick, and I got the giggles over the faces Michael was making trying to drink it through a straw.
Arby's Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich is every bit as yummy as it looks. I absolutely recommend it.
Both photos were taken by me. That bite was also taken by me.
